In 2010, Shelley Crausbay and Dr. Gotsch designed and carried out a research project to explore the water relations of trees at the cloud forest limit in Maui, Hawaii. They had to hike 12 hours to get to the site (starting at the Haleakala crater edge) and then we stayed in a primitive cabin above the clouds for two weeks. What a journey!
